Jamal Murray Lifts Nuggets Past Bucks in Game 5
Murray's Heroics Lead Nuggets to 3-2 Series Lead
Jamal Murray's late-game heroics lifted the Denver Nuggets to a 104-101 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series, giving the Nuggets a 3-2 lead.
Murray, who finished with a team-high 24 points, hit a jumper over the outstretched arm of Giannis Antetokounmpo with 36 seconds remaining to give the Nuggets a three-point lead. Antetokounmpo, who led the Bucks with 29 points, had a chance to tie the game with a potential game-tying three-pointer, but his shot rimmed out as time expired.
The Nuggets, who were without starting forward Aaron Gordon due to an injury, were led by Murray's scoring. Nikola Jokic added 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Michael Porter Jr. chipped in with 17 points. For the Bucks, Khris Middleton added 18 points, and Jrue Holiday had 16.
The series now shifts back to Milwaukee for Game 6 on Thursday night. The Bucks will need to win to force a Game 7 back in Denver.
